The mayor of Naples, Luigi De Magistris, through a post on his Facebook page announced the start of the preliminary activities for the construction of the metro tunnel line 1 that will connect Capodichino to Poggioreale.
Work on the Metro line 1
Just yesterday, July 2, in fact, a mole was placed at about 40 meters TMB, it is a machine that allows the excavation and construction of tunnels. The car, with a diameter of 7 meters, will begin to dig the tunnel towards Poggioreale with a speed of 10 meters per day for a total length of 1000 meters.
They will be about 80 working units involved for this great job, with workers engaged in the yard and about 19 workers per shift engaged in the operation of the machine itself, for a total of 3 shifts per day.
The excavations for the first tunnel will last about 4 months, once this section is completed, the mole will be brought back to the beginning of the route for the execution of the excavation of the second tunnel, of equal length. It is estimated that for complete the entire work takes just under 18 months.
