Metro line 2 in Naples closed between Campi Flegrei and San Giovanni-Barra 7 and 8 March 2020

Metro line 2 train in Naples

The section between Campi Flegrei and San Giovanni Barra is temporarily closed due to work on the underground line 2 of Naples.

The State Railways have communicated that Saturday 7 March and Sunday 8 March the Naples subway line 2 between Campi Flegrei and San Giovanni Barra will be closed.

The reason lies in the performance of jobs to replace the second pedestrian walkway at the height of Piazza Amedeo station.

This way, when the works are finished, travelers can take advantage of more modern and functional overpasses to get to the docks or exit the station.

Replacement bus shuttle

To compensate for the inconvenience related to closure, one will be made available shuttle bus that will move between Naples Central and San Giovanni Barra.

The temporary terminus

On 7 and 8 March, therefore, the terminus for the connections with Salerno, Castellammare di Stabia and Torre Annunziata Centrale will be San Giovanni Barra station, where the aforementioned shuttle bus service will depart

Instead, the Campi Flegrei station will be terminus for connections to Pozzuoli. Instead, various trains to and from Caserta will leave or end in Naples Central.
