When is the evening service on Line 1 suspended?
From Friday August 8 and up to Saturday 30 August 2025 including, the evening extensions on Friday and Saturday will not be active of Metro Line 1This means that the last train will follow the standard timetable, without the usual additional services that normally allow travel until late at night on weekends.
The decision is linked to the summer transport planning, which involves reorganizing resources during periods of lower demand. The service will be extended as usual. from Friday 5 September, coinciding with the resumption of city traffic after the summer break.
What are the Chiaia Funicular opening times in August?
During the entire month of August 2025, Chiaia Funicular will operate at the following times:
- First run: 7:00 am
- Last ride: 22pm
The timetable will be valid every day of the week, from August 1st to 31st. Again, no provisions are made evening extensions, usually active on weekends or during special events. The goal is to standardize service and better manage maintenance needs, without penalizing daytime users.
The extension of the Central Funicular remains active
Even if the changes concern Line 1 and the Chiaia Funicular, no changes are expected for the Central Funicular. Throughout the month of August, in fact, there will be service extensions guaranteed evening for this line. This allows you to keep an active strategic night connection, particularly useful for those travelling between the city centre and the hilly areas.
