Today, Friday, July 31, 2026, Napoliike received reports from users regarding problems on Line 2 of the Naples Metro, between Pozzuoli and Campi Flegrei. However, these reports do not concern a new critical issue: that route has been suspended for some time now and the reason is always the same.

Why the Pozzuoli-Campi Flegrei route is suspended

The suspension of the Campi Flegrei-Pozzuoli Solfatara section is underway from the 13 June 2026The reason is the presence of carbon dioxide (CO2) in the Phlegraean Tunnel, linked to the phenomenon of bradyseism of the Phlegraean FieldsThe CO2 levels detected made it necessary to suspend service on that route for safety reasons, with checks and inspections currently underway by Trenitalia and RFI.
