Some free monuments in Naples Sunday 18 June 2017 and visits to the Maschio Angioino and San Domenico Maggiore.
Sunday June 18 2017 there will be some free openings of monuments and cultural places in Naples that will allow you to visit the Castel dell'Ovo, Tomb of Leopardi and a series of churches in the historic center. Furthermore, C will also be open to visitorshiesa of San Domenico Maggiore and the Maschio Angioino, but only for those who purchase the ticket for one of the events scheduled inside.
This is an initiative curated by the Department of Culture and Tourism of the Municipality of Naples.
Castel dell'Ovo
On Sunday morning you can visit for free the Castel dell'Ovo, the oldest castle in the city. You can climb up to the terraces and admire the Spanish cannons as well as the beautiful view of the seafront and beyond. Inside there are five rows of columns from the huge villa of Lucullus, the monks' cells and the remains of the church of the Savior.

Tomb of Leopardi and Virgil
They are both located in the Parco Vergiliano in Piedigrotta, not to be confused with the best known Virgilian. Leopardi's tomb consists of one large ara on which the name of the poet is engraved, while that of Virgil would be a Roman columbarium with an inscription of Petrarch.

Maschio Angioino
Unfortunately the Maschio Angioino (Castel Nuovo) will not be open for free, but will be visited only by those who will visit the exhibition Totò Genio, focused on the relationship between the Prince of laughter, the media and advertising. In addition, even the participants in the guided tours The Grail at the Maschio Angioino they will have access to the Castle.
