Murales for Gino Strada in Scisciano in the Circumvesuviana Rights Station

Murals for Gino Strada in Scisciano

Un mural dedicated to Gino Strada was painted in the Circumvesuviana station of Scisciano, also called the "Rights Station", thanks to'association "We remain Human" which for more than a year has started a path to protect rights through a desk dedicated to migrants.

In fact, about 1000 people turned to this desk to request help and support and about 300 of them have managed to regularize their presence in Italy, while many others are in the process of regularization.

That's why this station turned out to be the right place to pay tribute to the doctor Gino Strada, who with his Emergency it has helped many weak, marginalized, poor people, in short, all those who could not afford treatment, especially in war zones.

It will be officially inaugurated on October 3, 2022, on the day you remember the Lampedusa massacre in 2013, when 368 people, including children, women and men, died at sea while trying to reach Europe to save themselves from poverty and war. This space will thus be a place not only for memory, but also for solidarity and hospitality.

During the most intense period of the pandemic, the door allowed a 500 marginalized people to be able to receive the anti-Covid vaccine. Furthermore, it is increasingly a valid tool of solidarity and support for those who live in a precarious way every day and have little hope for the future.

It has also become a municipal social secretariat space thanks to the Sai project of the Municipality of Scisciano, a project thanks to which migrants have received aid, also collaborating in the enhancement of spaces through a laboratory of the Agorà di Dugenta Association which decorated the external walls of the Sportello. The decorations are enclosed in a mural representing migrations and the protection of rights.
