Naples: Mergellina funicular to close on December 19, 2025
Friday December 19, 2025 la funicular of Mergellina will remain closed for the whole day. It is to communicate it ANM, which has scheduled a day of total shutdown of the plant to allow checks and functional tests necessary for the correct functioning of the service.
Why the funicular will be closed
The suspension of the service is part of the periodic technical activities planned to ensure safety, reliability and continuity of public transportThere will be no running throughout the day, with no guaranteed exercise slots.
What citizens need to know
Those who regularly use the Mergellina funicular to move between the seafront and the hilly areas will have to organize alternative solutions for Friday. Service will resume regularly. Saturday December 20, unless further notice is given.
