Napoli Explosion RAP has been extended; Mario Amura's exhibition remains open until April 5th.
The exhibition “Naples Explosion RAP” of the photographer and visual artist Mario Amura will continue to welcome visitors for a few more weeks. The exhibition set up at the Royal Hospice for the Poor of Naples it was indeed extended until Sunday, April 5, 2026, following the strong interest registered by the public and the press.
Inaugurated last December, the exhibition attracted numerous visitors thanks to a project that unites visual art, technology and Neapolitan cultural identity, while enhancing the restored spaces of the historic complex of Piazza Carlo III.
Mario Amura's exhibition, between light and spectacle, on the Gulf of Naples.
The artistic project was born from the work of Mario Amura, photographer and author of cinematographic images presented at important international festivals. For over fourteen years the artist observes and photographs from Monte Faito the explosion of lights that illuminates the Gulf of Naples during the great fireworks displays.
The images tell a spectacular moment: fires, reflections and colors that expand over the sea and the profile of Vesuvius, transforming the panorama of the city into an almost cinematic visual experience.
The exhibition is curated by Sylvain Bellenger and proposes a narrative that puts the light as an artistic element, capable of telling Naples with a contemporary perspective.
The Royal Hospice for the Poor returns to being a cultural space
The exhibition was organised in the renovated spaces of the Real Albergo dei Poveri, one of the most impressive monumental complexes in the city. The project was promoted by the Infiniti Mondi, the House of Emerging Technologies of the Municipality of Naples, In collaboration with the creative tech studio Napex and with the patronage of initiatives related to Naples 2500.
The opening of the exhibition also represented a symbolic moment: the return to the city of new exhibition spaces after the recovery interventions supported by the Ministry of Culture and from Ministry of Business and Made in Italy.
Technology and art: dialogue at the heart of the project
One of the distinctive elements of Naples Explosion RAP it is the integration between photographic art and technological innovation. Thanks to the contribution of the House of Emerging Technologies, the exhibition uses digital solutions and installations designed to expand the visitor's visual experience.
The project aims to demonstrate how the technology can become a tool at the service of culture, creating new ways of narrating artistic heritage and the urban landscape.
An exhibition linked to the celebrations of Naples' 2500th anniversary
The extension until April 5, 2026 allows an even wider audience to visit an exhibition that is part of the programme of initiatives dedicated to 2500 years of the city of Naples.
