Naples Film Festival 2013: XV edition in homage to Buñuel

The exhibition dedicated to the seventh art will return in the autumn. The Naples Film Festival 2013, this year will pay homage to the thirty years since the death of Luis Buñuel

He will come back in the fall XV edition of the Naples Film Festival, the film festival that since 1997 has been hosted in the evocative setting of Castel Sant'Elmo and that every year brings a passion for the big screen to our city, accompanied by the presence of famous personalities of the sector.

Il Naples Film Festival was born with the intention of simultaneously spreading the great Hollywood cinema, with its most recent revelations, and to promote the new Campania cinema, with the unpublished works of Neapolitan authors who participate in the review by presenting their own shorts and documentaries.

Over the years, the Festival has become an opportunity to learn about the new "variants" of the big screen, from web series to documentaries, from short films to video blogs, from photography to visual arts.

This year the Napoli Film Festival will be dedicated to the famous Spanish director Luis Buñuel that debuted in the cinema with the film A chien Andalou, one of his masterpieces created in collaboration with Salvador Dalì. For the thirty years after his death, the filmmaker will be remembered with the projection of some of his cinematographic works, which the Neapolitan public will be able to discover and appreciate in this way. The section will also be dedicated to Buñuel Frames dedicated to photography.

Calls and competitions

Il Napoli Film Festival promotes the creation of unpublished cinematographic works of all young filmmakers. The deadline for sending one's achievements is set for the 30 June 2013. These are the sections of this year's competition, which can also be consulted on official website of the Naples Film festival 2013:

Screen Napoli Corti and Screen Napoli Documentaries: dedicated to the works shot by artists from Campania and whose subject are Campania

ScreenNaples School: dedicated to short films sent by schools. The theme is Reading is, and consists in creating a television commercial that invites young people to read. The deadline is set for the 31 May

Mediterranean Europe competition: was created with the aim of making the public discover the splendid cinematographic works made in the Mediterranean countries that usually do not fall within the commercial distribution circuits

frames: photo competition that this year will collaborate with the Cervantes Institute of Naples and which asks aspiring photographers to be inspired by six works by maestro Buñuel

ScreenNaples Web Award: new competition that offers new media the opportunity to succeed on the big screen. Two categories:  Web Series video Blog, which must be directed or produced by directors and producers from Southern Italy
