All Charterhouse of San M
artino interesting meetings are taking place as part of the initiative "Naples the Gentile. The Museum tells the city". The appointments began on April 1, 2016 but will continue until June 21 and will be held every two weeks.
The purpose is to tell the city and of discover it from a privileged point of view which is precisely that of the Charterhouse, which can give us a different perspective than usual.
In the many events, therefore, we will be able to get to know Naples from several points of view, from its urban development to its artistic history, focusing on some particular historical periods. We will follow the evolution of the cartographic representation of our territory through the roads, squares and of palaces represented in the paintings of the sixteenth and eighteenth centuries.
Furthermore, we will cover the Gothic undergrounds with their many works, sarcophagi and purchases made over time, but we will also know many historical aspects of Naples, such as its being a city of sea and theater.
