Naples: Roads closed on September 22nd for President Mattarella's visit.

The city of Naples is preparing to welcome President Sergio Mattarella on September 22nd. The day includes official meetings at schools, hospitals, and the Nisida juvenile detention center. For security and public order reasons, the Municipality has prepared an extraordinary plan that introduces: parking bans e temporary closings in multiple city areas. Knowing the details is useful for both residents and visitors.

Which roads will be subject to the parking ban?

Starting from 00pm on September 00th Until the need is no longer met, paid parking areas and all other authorized parking spaces (motorcycle parking, loading and unloading, etc.) will be suspended. The affected roads are:

  • Via Ferdinando Russo
  • Via Posillipo (from number 224 to Piazza San Luigi)
  • Old Agnano Street
  • Via Agnano ai Astroni
  • Via Terracina (between Via Nuova Agnano and Via Barbagallo)
  • Via Nuova Agnano (between Via Beccadelli and Via Provinciale San Gennaro)
  • Avenue of Liberation (from the former NATO base to Via Beccadelli)
  • Beccadelli Street (from number 31 to Viale della Liberazione)
  • Nisida Street (suspension of parking areas and prohibition of parking and stopping with forced removal on both sides)

Where will the traffic bans come into force?

From 13 hours: 00 of the 22 SeptemberTraffic will be prohibited except for emergency vehicles, rescue vehicles, law enforcement, and authorized vehicles. The affected roads are:

  • Via Terracina (between Via Nuova Agnano and Via Barbagallo)
  • Via Nuova Agnano (between Liberation Avenue/Mediterranean Games Avenue and Provincial Road San Gennaro)
  • Old Agnano Street
  • Nisida Street (transit prohibited with exceptions for emergency vehicles and organizational vehicles)

What are the times and methods of the measures?

The traffic plan is divided into two phases:

  • From 00:00 AM: Paid parking areas and other authorized parking areas in the streets indicated will be suspended, with the addition of a parking ban on Via Nisida.
  • From 13:00 PM: Traffic will be closed on Via Terracina, Via Nuova Agnano, Via Vecchia Agnano, and Via Nisida. Only emergency vehicles and authorized vehicles will be allowed.

These measures will remain in effect until further notice, with the possibility of changes established by the Police Headquarters or Local Police depending on the day's situation.
