Article contents

Sunday morning Naples will wake up with the slow and festive pace of solidarity. On the occasion of the Walk of Life 2025, the charity marathon promoted by Telethon, the heart of the seafront will be closed to traffic to make room for athletes, families and children. An eagerly awaited event, which brings with it enthusiasm and participation, but also some significant traffic restrictions, to be known in advance to avoid inconvenience.

Which roads will be closed for the Walk of Life?

The affected area is large and involves Via Caracciolo, Via Partenope and Piazza Sannazaro, but not only. Starting from the early hours of the morning and until mid-day, several streets will be completely closed to vehicular traffic. Among the most relevant:

  • Round Diaz (starting and finishing point)
  • Via F. Caracciolo
  • Piazza Vittoria
  • Via Nazario Sauro
  • Via Santa Lucia
  • Via Chiatamone
  • Viale Gramsci
  • Piazza Sannazaro

Lockout also for the Victory Gallery towards Via Acton. The traffic ban is expected between 9pm and 00pm, but some areas will be closed starting from 7:00.

Parking bans, cycle paths and suspended stops

In addition to the vehicle block, further measures are planned:

  • Forced removal for cars left in via Chiatamone and via Santa Lucia.
  • Suspension of the cycle path on via Caracciolo, Partenope and Nazario Sauro.
  • Temporary stop for taxis and buses in reserved areas.
  • ANM stops suspended along the entire race route.

There will be two races scheduled: the 10 km competitive, departing at 9:00, and the 3km Family Run, starting at 10:30. Both will end within 11:30, with a gradual return to normality soon after.

Which ANM buses are changing routes?

Public transport will also be affected. The lines most affected are:

  • 151: diversion at the Galleria Vittoria, with a U-turn onto Via Acton.
  • 154: service suspended for the entire duration of the event.
  • 140 and 128: limited route in Piazza Vittoria, with temporary terminus in front of the Villa Comunale.

Those who plan to travel by public transport should pay attention to ANM warnings and stay updated via official channels.

How to get around on Sunday 23 March?

The advice is simple: avoid the seafront by car and plan your travels in advance. The area will be frequented by many participants, including runners and walkers, and the atmosphere will be that of a big city festival. For those who want to reach Rotonda Diaz or the points of interest along the route, the best solution remains Metro, which will not undergo any changes.

Alternatively, you can use two-wheeled vehicles (outside the restricted areas) or secondary pedestrian paths.
