In the ancient heart of the city takes place the Naples Strit Festival 2018: over 50 artists perform with poems, music and stories dedicated to silence!
The weekend of8 and 9 June the ancient heart of Partenope welcomes the Naples Strit Festival 2018, an initiative born from an idea of Ettore De Lorenzo and dedicated toStreet art. After eleven years of absence, the event returns to animate Piazza San Domenico Maggiore, Piazza del Gesù and Spaccanapoli, where the central theme will be silence.
The rich program will be attended by over 50 artists, who will perform in the performance of music, poetry, art and movement. To guide the public in the practice of silence will be the Deaf Mutes Association, which will approach a profound sensory experience able to reveal hidden meanings.
This will be celebrated Funeral of the Word: there will be no lyrics, the music will only be instrumental, and the only exception will be for poems and fairy tales, which still retain their purity in their expressive language. Along the streets they will meet visual and sound installations, to which the Neapolitan citizens contributed.
To support the festival economically it is possible to participate in fundraising following the instructions provided in the information mirror.

Courtesy of The African Film Festival (TAFF - III edition, Dallas 25 June - 3 July 2018). The film is a tribute to one of the most loved personalities of the twentieth century, a symbol of freedom and peace, revealing his kind soul and wonderful sense of humor. Remembering the hundredth anniversary of Nelson Mandela's birth, within the tenth edition of the Napoli Strit Festival, means honoring the 30 years of silence that the great Madiba had to endure during his isolation and imprisonment. Demonstration of how silence can represent a springboard to do extraordinary things.

Passage to the South is part of a larger project, Born To Walk G00, which, not giving itself geographical limits, wants to tell our era using its legs, its feet on the earth as a means of transport.
