Due to a high risk of riots due to the worsening of Ciro Esposito's conditions, the boy injured during the final of the Italian Cup Rome - Naples, the Municipality of Naples has decided to cancel the event.
On the occasion of the matches of the Italian National Soccer Team for the 2014 World Cup, which are disputing these days in Brazil, the City of Naples has decided to install the only big screen in the city at the Villa Comunale di Scampia.
In the days of the 20 and 24 Jun 2014 (days in which Italy will challenge Costa Rica and Uruguay) it will therefore be possible to attend the projections of the World Cup starting at 18: 00 by attending the free event Scampia World.
The aim of the event is to inaugurate a new way of using the sporting event and the location located in one of the most disadvantaged districts of Naples which deserves redevelopment and restoration. Scampia Worldin addition, in addition to the screening of the matches of the World Cup in Italy, it will also include two collateral events: themarket area, intended for the display of homemade products, and thebio area dedicated to organic products, edited by "Mercatino Napoletano".
In the park there will also be a refreshment area and exhibition stands and, at the end of the game, live & dj set will follow.
The Councilor for Youth Alessandra Clemente commented on the initiative as follows:
This is an initiative promoted as part of the second edition of the Youth June, an opportunity for youth socializing and beyond. The day after the first evening organized at the Parco Virgiliano, and dedicated to young people, this appointment was launched. Thus the only large screen in the city of Naples will therefore be hosted by the Villa Comunale di Scampia.
One way to create osmosis between the different districts of the city, to break down the distances between apparently distant areas such as Posillipo and Scampia and return, again this year, during the Youth June, to the beautiful city park, focusing on important values such as those of legality and social contamination, which culture and sport can and must promote.
