Expand the pedestrian and ZTL areas of the historic center of Naples, an area that is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Project approved City of Naples relating to the area of Old Town who is interested in ZTL, with the installation of 20 gates useful for creating and completing pedestrian areas and restricted traffic areas.
The historic center project
Proposed by councilors Panini, Piscopo and Clemente, the project is part of the interventions of the Great Project Historic Center of Naples - Enhancement of the Unesco siteWho wants redeveloping urban spaces main areas of the city.
The will is to be able to make the Neapolitan historical center more usable and make sure that mobility increases within the areas that are part of the Unesco perimeter.
The new ZTL and pedestrian areas
Below are all the new measures which concern the ZTL and pedestrian areas that will affect the Old Town.
New ZTL:
- ZTL Virgins
- ZTL via Donnalbina
- ZTL via Ferdinando Russo
- ZTL extension in the area via Duomo, via Donnaregina, via Vicaria Vecchia, via SS. Apostoli, vico San Nicolò dei Caserti, via Forcella
New pedestrian areas:
- Spanish Quarter pedestrian area
- Pedestrian area Pignasecca
- Pedestrian area via Rodinò
Existing pedestrian areas and limited traffic areas
The new measures are added to the ZTL and existing pedestrian areas on the territory that are divided between fixed, temporary or limited areas only for a few hours of the day.
- ZTL Tarsia - Pignasecca - Dante. With electronic gates, 4 gates for access
- ZTL "Belledonne, Martiri, Poerio"
- ZTL Chiaia, ban on vehicular transit on some streets on Saturdays, from 10:00 to 13:30 and from 16:00 to 22:00
- ZTL Marechiaro, active from 1 May to 30 September 2018
- ZTL of the Centro Antico, 4 access points
- ZTL "Morelli, Filangieri, Mille", active every year from 8 December to 6 January on Saturdays, Sundays, holidays and pre-holidays from 10:00 to 14:00 and from 16:00 to 20:00
- Pedestrian Area of Borgo Marinari
- Urban pedestrian area in via dei Tribunali, from Monday to Saturday and holidays from 10:00 to 22:00 and on Sunday from 9:00 to 15:00
- Urban Pedestrian Area in via Luca Giordano, every day
- Pedestrian area in via Tito Angelini.
- Urban pedestrian area of the avenues of the Central Business District of Naples
- Urban pedestrian area in via F. De Sanctis
- Prohibition of circulation and transit of some roads in Vomero, ban from Monday to Saturday from 16:00 to 20:00
