An opportunity not to be missed to spend an unusual evening immersed in our cultural heritage.
the event The Night of the Museums, will be held in the night between Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 May 2014, from 20 to 24. For some museums in Naples admission will cost only 1 euro, other museums will be ad free entry, in others the ticket price will be reduced.
The Minister of Cultural Heritage and Activities and Tourism, Dario Franceschini, will officially present the initiative today 13 May at 11.00 The Night of the Museums, which will include guided tours and events in many state, civic and private museums, galleries, exhibitions, libraries and archaeological sites.

La Church of Santa Maria delle Anime of Purgatory in Arco will open its doors from 19 am to 23 pm to all citizens and tourists who want to discover the cult of "pezzentelle souls", one of the most ancient Neapolitan traditions.
It will be possible to admire the masterpieces by Massimo Stanzione, Luca Giordano, Andrea Vaccaro, Dioniso Lazzari, the cult objects kept in the sacristy but, above all, we can get off in Purgatory, that is, in the large lower church, the suggestive underground path, where the cult of the "pezzentelle souls" was born: anonymous human remains "adopted" by the people and used by the people as special intermediaries for their own prayers. A unique experience, a journey into the complex and fascinating world of Neapolitan culture.

Archaeological Museum of Nola
The museum is located in the monastic complex of Santa Maria La Nova, built in 1521 in the medieval Casale Nuovo della Nola. Diocesan Museum of Nola
The museum is located in the halls of the bishop's palace built during the episcopate of Fabrizio Gallo (1585-1614) and houses the precious heritage of Cathedral Treasury which has collected, over the centuries thanks, donations from illustrious personalities and bishops. You can admire some precious works of art that survived the fire of the Cathedral of Nola in 1861 and works from churches and other religious buildings of the diocese, such as silver and sacred vestments, and visit the chapel, a small jewel of late XNUMXth century architecture.

Museum of the Sea
Il Museum of the Sea of Pozzuoli will host a series of events dedicated to the world of navigation, documentaries on the marine environment, a gastronomic moment and an unmissable virtual navigation simulation. An opportunity to visit the scientific heritage of the Naples Museum of the Sea, the only cultural reality in the area.
