The redevelopment of via delle Repubbliche Marinare in Naples involves the demolition of the long viaduct and the creation of playgrounds and parking lots.

The City Council of Naples approved the redevelopment of via the Maritime Republics with the project that foresees the demolition of the viaduct between via Volpicella and via Ottaviano and other interventions that will be significant for the whole area.

The start of the works is scheduled for the first months of 2018 and they should be completed within the year to give the city an important public space and improve both the architectural and urban decor of these areas.

About 900 thousand euros will be invested in this project and in this way the viaduct will be demolished along its whole length of 300 meters and the spaces in the area will be transformed into a playground, bowling alleys and parking lots. These works follow those of a few years ago during which another viaduct was removed always on Via delle Repubbliche Marinare, but on the side bordering Barra and San Giovanni, not far from Corso Protopisani. It was an intervention that gave air and brightness to a very disfigured area.

As declared by the Councilor for Infrastructure and Transport Mario Calabrese, the works will deliver to citizens a public space of the highest quality.
