The beautiful Biblioteca dei Girolamini will open up to the public extraordinarily!
Sunday 11 October 2015, Oratoriana State Library of Girolamini will open up extraordinarily to the Neapolitan public.
The event, on the occasion of the "Paper Sunday", will immerse citizens and tourists in the elegant spaces and paper treasures kept in the ancient Neapolitan library in via Duomo.
The extraordinary opening comes after a period of closure due to the theft of important manuscripts of the period and the conditions of decay in which the structure was built. For this reason it will be possible to visit the Sala del Camino, the Vico Room, the Bellucci Room and an exhibition of precious historical relics.
An important citizen cultural pole, this, recognized in the 1866 as National Monument, center of philosophy, theology, sacred music and literature across the Alps with around 160.000 ancient volumes and over 6000 musical works kept in the beautiful rooms in the eighteenth-century style.
An unmissable opportunity, therefore, to visit one of the oldest, rich and prestigious libraries in the South, which has been a place of study and training for Giambattista Vico and Benedetto Croce, becoming a real urban treasure without equal.
