Pa-tatà, the patatineria in via San Giacomo (Naples) | Review [CLOSED]

Pa-tatà eating naples

Review of the original local Pa-tatà in via San Giacomo in Naples.

We regret to inform you that the restaurant has closed.

After talking about the vegetarian cuisine of Biotic, which we presented last week, let's go to discover the place Potato in via San Giacomo.

Why amazed us? Clue: most of the menu is based on one ingredients!!

The local

The place is very modern and well curate. Wood and brightness give an idea of space and cleanliness. The counter where you can choose ready meals is located just behind the open kitchen.

There are tables and chairs where you can eat but not single tables.

The menu

The menu is enough various and especially customizable. Every day first courses, second courses and salads are cooked as well as the ever-present gateaux, pizza with potatoes and the inevitable baked and fried potatoes. When we went there were also some sweet staples.

Each of these dishes comes to cost 4 €, so you can take a complete meal with 8-10 euro.

The order

We took a portion of potato gateaux (4,00 €). Very seasoned and very good.

Not happy we tried the "Patatone Pa-tatà" (5,00 €). This dish is very similar to baked potato American and consists of a whole potato cooked in a special oven that also steamed. It opens and fills as desired. In our case, the restaurant offers many side dishes such as aubergines, courgettes, mushrooms or sausage. The one we tried was with half aubergines and one half with sausage and cream cheese.

Cost of lunch? 9 €!!!

Conclusions

Certainly an idea very original and a cuisine so varied that customers never tire of the same dishes. the owner is very kind and she will help you decide what to eat. It is certainly a place also made for people vegetarian and celiac (we specifically asked). Until recently there was also a special menu for celiacs, we hope it will be reintroduced.
