Partenoplay, the Game Festival arrives in Naples

A Napoli, January 25 and 26, 2025, returns Partenoplay, Game Festival, a free event open to all that celebrates the importance of play as a tool for growth, learning and sharing. Now in its sixth edition, the festival represents one of the main events of the project A City to Play, promoted by the Department of Social Policies – Childhood and Adolescent Policies Service.
What is the goal of Partenoplay?
Partenoplay aims to raise awareness among citizens on the central role of play in every phase of life. In addition to fun, play helps develop fundamental skills:
- Social: promotes collaboration and interaction with others;
- cognitive: stimulates critical thinking and creativity;
- Emotive: helps manage emotions and improve self-esteem.

According to Councilor Luca Fella Trapanese, “in a constantly evolving world, it is essential to recognize and enhance the power of play in our daily lives.”
Where will the festival take place?
This year the festival will be held in the suggestive Church of San Vitale in Fuorigrotta, a historic location that will offer a unique and welcoming environment for two days full of activities.
Furthermore, the 24st January a training day will be held dedicated to educators and professionals, with the aim of deepening the importance of play in education and human development.
What activities are planned?
Partenoplay offers a varied and inclusive program, designed for children and adults. Among the planned activities:
- Board and role-playing games;
- Creative workshops with bricks, wood and recycled materials;
- Sports and science games;
- Chess, checkers, othello and bridge;
- Table football;
- Shows and readings to stimulate imagination and curiosity.
All activities are for free, upon reservation on the official website of the project A City to Play.
