Free walks on the Vesuvius Crater for residents in the municipalities of the Vesuvius National Park

Il May 24 a truly important event occurs, namely the European Day of Parks and on the occasion of this holiday in the coming week from 18 to 26 May 2024 you may have the opportunity to visit the Crater of Vesuvius for free.

In particular, visits will be free for residents of Common 13 which are part of the Vesuvius National Park, namely:

  • Boscoreale
  • Boscotrecase
  • Herculaneum
  • Massa di Somma
  • Ottaviano
  • S. Giuseppe Vesuviano
  • S. Sebastiano al Vesuvius
  • St. Anastasia
  • Somma Vesuviana
  • Pollena Trocchia
  • Terzigno
  • Greek's tower
  • trecase

A wonderful event not to be missed to discover the beauty and biodiversity of this place.

The paths to visit

Citizens residing in the 13 municipalities of the Vesuvius National Park will therefore be able to participate in the free guided tours of the Vesuvius Crater. Furthermore, you can also visit the different paths such as The Valley of Hell, The Profica Valley, The Matrone Road and others.

To participate in the visits to the Crater you will need to make the booking and buy a free ticket on official website of the park. The ticket must be shown at the entrance together with the identity document which certifies residence in one of the 13 municipalities of the Park.

Visits to the Crater of Vesuvius will begin at 09:00 and continue until 16:00. As regards access to the paths, this is free and it is not necessary to make a reservation.
