Why did Edenlandia close? The reasons for the stop

Il 7 March 2025, City of Naples ordered the immediate closure of Edenlandia, the historic amusement park of Fuorigrotta, revoking the license for serious deficiencies in the maintenance of the ridesThe decision was taken after a series of checks which revealed conditions of degradation such as to represent a danger to the safety of visitors.

What led to the closure of Edenlandia?

The closure of the park was the result of reports received by the Municipality, which led to the intervention of the Commission for Public Entertainment and Local Police. During the inspections, the technicians found that many of the attractions they had not been subjected to regular maintenance, presenting significant structural problems.

The checks highlighted:

• Rides in a state of disrepair, with rusty parts and obvious signs of wear.
• Lack of updated safety certifications for some attractions.
• Lack of extraordinary maintenance interventions, necessary to ensure the correct functioning of the rides.
• Concrete safety risks of visitors and workers.

Faced with these serious irregularities, the Municipality has ordered the immediate suspension of activities to avoid potential accidents.

What are the consequences of the closure?

The revocation of the license means that Edenlandia will not be able to reopen until all the required interventions have been carried out to ensure the safety of the park.

In order to resume operations, the property must:

• Present a detailed plan of interventions for the safety of the attractions.
• Obtain the clearance from the Public Entertainment Commission after new checks.
• Certify the conformity of the systems to current safety standards.

Will Edenlandia be able to reopen?

Currently There is no official date for reopeningThe duration of the closure will depend on the time needed to complete the adaptation works and the subsequent checks by the competent authorities.
