Why did Napoli's Scudetto celebration not take place on Sunday, but on Monday, May 26? The reason
Napoli is ready to celebrate the fourth Scudetto with a highly anticipated parade on the seafront. But many have wondered: Why not celebrate right away, on Sunday, May 25th? The choice to postpone the event to Monday, a working day, may seem unusual. Yet the decision is the result of a precise assessment by the authorities.
Why is Napoli's celebration held on Monday, May 26?
The celebratory parade for Napoli's Scudetto has been officially scheduled for Monday May 26 2025, and not for the Sunday following the match against Cagliari. The decision arises from a precise evaluation of public order and operational availability. As stated by the Prefect Michele Di Bari, It would not have been possible to ensure adequate safety measures on Sunday: the number of police officers, stewards, traffic wardens, volunteers and health workers would have been drastically reduced compared to a weekday.
Monday, instead, is the first useful day to deploy a complete safety plan with all available resources. In addition, public transport services can be planned to support the inflow and outflow of fans.
The Prefecture, in coordination with the Municipality and SSC Napoli, has therefore decided to postpone the party to Monday to ensure maximum safety, orderly participation and efficient logistical management of the event.
