A guided tour theatricalized in the halls of the Museum of Sanitary Arts and Historical Pharmacy of the Complex of Incurable to the discovery of Giuseppe Moscati, the doctor proclaimed saint 31 years ago.

Sunday October 21 2018 back, in the halls of Museum of Health Arts and Historical Pharmacy of the Complex of Incurables, guided tour to find out the figure of Giuseppe Moscati. The show "Giuseppe Moscati, a flash into eternity" by the cultural association NarteA, written and directed by Febo Quercia, will be held on the occasion of the 31 years since the proclamation of the "holy doctor".

Giuseppe Moscati he was not a simple doctor, but he is considered a true innovator of medicine, the 5 October 1987 proclaimed holy by Pope John Paul II because he dedicated his entire existence to the disinterested care of the poorest patients, showing extreme courage even in difficult situations, such as the eruption of Vesuvius or the cholera epidemic that ravaged the city of Naples in 1911. He also committed himself relentlessly to scientific research which led him to important discoveries in the medical field.

The "holy doctor", so dear to the Neapolitans, unfortunately died only 46 years because of a sudden illness, on his armchair at home. The news of his death, that 12 April 1927, was spread with these words: "Today, Naples has lost a great doctor, but the poor have lost everything".

Visitors will be guided in the rooms of the Museum of Sanitary Arts and the historic Pharmacy of the Complex of the Incurables by the volunteer doctors of the “Il faro d'Ippocrate” Association.
