Piano City Napoli 2024, over 300 pianists, 100 events and much more throughout the city
Piano City Napoli celebrates ten years of activity with a four-day program, which includes over 300 pianists, 100 public events, 20 location e 30 house concert. The tenth edition marks a milestone of great importance for an event that, edition after edition, has consolidated itself as one of the most significant musical events in Naples. The event, promoted and financed by the City of Naples as part of the Naples City of Music project, it is organised by theNapolipiano Association.
The initiative celebrates the piano in all its expressive forms, exploring music classic, jazz, pop, Contemporary, rock,improvisation, the music Neapolitan and new productions. This year's opening features an extraordinary orchestral performance by eight pianos, an absolute first conceived and curated by Patrizio Marrone.

Piano City Napoli embraces the entire city, bringing music to a variety of prestigious and evocative locations that represent the rich cultural heritage of Naples. Among the places chosen to host the concerts are:

Inclusivity and music education
One of the distinctive elements of Piano City Naples is the attention dedicated to themusical education and the inclusion of all generations. As explained by Ferdinando Tozzi, the Mayor's delegate for the music and audiovisual industry, the festival offers events designed for young talents and activities for children of all ages. Among these, the concert marathons that will involve students from local high schools and music schools stand out, as well as workshops that will allow children to approach the world of the piano in a fun way.
The artistic direction of the event is entrusted to Dario Candela, which has selected a large group of artists including great personalities and emerging young artists. The event aims to enhance the centrality of Naples in the musical panorama, also including the second series of the Scarlatti Forum hosted at the San Pietro a Majella Conservatory.

The Piano City Napoli 2024 program is full of unique events that celebrate the piano in all its nuances. Here are some of the highlights:
- Thursday 13th October: Opening night at the Acacia Theater with the concert “Eight pianos in the theatre”, an orchestral performance conducted by Maestros Mariano Patti and Giuseppe Galiano. The repertoire includes music by Vivaldi, Strauss, Rossini and a fantasy of famous Neapolitan melodies.
- Friday 14th October: At the Galleries of Italy-Naples, the Argentine pianist Daniel Rivera will perform together with four young musicians in a special performance of the “Beethoven’s Seventh Symphony” for four hands. In the San Paolo Maggiore, there will be a jazz concert with Alessandro Lanzoni ed Enrico Zanisi, while Vincenzo Bad Weather will bring back to life the repertoire of Charles Valentin Alkan.
- Saturday October 19: Francesco Parrino, famous youtuber, will perform at Darwin Dohrn Museum with a program of pop music and duets with Steinway Spirio. To the Hermann Nitsch Museum the Piano night, a night of music with various pianists, creating an engaging and evocative atmosphere.

An event spread throughout the territory of Naples
In line with the philosophy of “Polycentric Naples”, Piano City Naples embraces the entire city territory, bringing music to different and often less valued neighborhoods. Among the numerous venues involved for the occasion we find the TAN Theater in Piscinola, the Melissa Bassi High School of Scampia and the Nest of San Giovanni a Teduccio. Particular attention will also be paid to the younger ones, with specific activities for Little Musicians from 0 to 6 years, in collaboration with theBorn for Music Association – Campania and Chikù in Scampia.
