With 62 graphic works, many photos and lithographs in Nola there will be the exhibition “Picasso and his Muses” which will cost only 1 euro!
From the 2 in March to the 28 in April 2018 in Nola the exhibition arrives "Picasso and its muses"Dedicated to relationship between the genius of Cubism and its muses inspiring with 62 works of the artist. To support the culture in the town, the exhibition will only cost 1 €.
It will take place in the Church of the Holy Apostles, place where last year theexhibition on De Chirico, and was commissioned by the Municipal Administration and the Department of Culture of the Municipality in the province of Naples.
As mentioned, “Picasso and his Muses” focuses on the bond that the artist had with some women who have contributed in a fundamental way to his training, but who in turn have been talented artists. In the exhibition you can admire Picasso's graphic works alongside those of some of these artists so as to be able to detect similarities and differences and to understand how the Spanish artist has suffered their influence.
Picasso's works on show: the women of his life transformed into Muse
As said, I am 62 the graphic works of Pablo Picasso, divided into two complete series. There are 31 incisions at Carmen's burin of 1949 and 31 etchings, aquatint drypoint and burin by The Perdu Corps of 1950.
In addition, they are also exposed four other graphic works, two drawings and the Le Tèmps Deborde series, created by Dora Mar in collaboration with Man Ray. Dora Maar was also Picasso's model and partner and, in 1937, documented with many photographs the genesis of Guernica, during the Nazi occupation in Paris.
There are also lithographic series by Françoise Girot, the artist's new companion after Maar: these are Pages d'amour and Tout dire.
To conclude, “Picasso and his Muses” also hosts a series of photographs taken by photographer Robert Capa and that immortalize moments of his daily life. They are exhibited in a rare print produced by the Magnum company, a photographic agency founded by Capa in the 1947 with Herni-Cartier Bresson and other photographers.
