Pietrarsa Open Day for the 35th anniversary of the National Railway Museum
Il National Railway Museum of Pietrarsa celebrates an important milestone: its 35 years of history. Founded on 7 October 1989, the museum is now a point of reference for all train and railway history enthusiasts, housing a unique collection that tells the story of the evolution of rail transport in Italy.
To celebrate this anniversary, the FS Italiane Foundation organized a special event: a Open Day with two days dedicated, Saturday and Sunday 14 15 September, where everyone can visit the museum with a symbolic ticket.
Ticket price, dates and times
During the'Open Day on Saturday 14 is Sunday September 15th, the National Railway Museum of Pietrarsa will open its gates from 9: 00 to 17: 00, offering us the opportunity to live a unique experience. The entrance ticket will have a symbolic price of just one euro, purchasable until 16:00. This is an unmissable opportunity to explore one of the most evocative places of the Italian railway heritage, suitable for young and old enthusiasts, which directly overlooks the Gulf of Naples.
The experience in the Museum of Pietrarsa
At the Museum we will be able to admire a vast collection of vintage carriages and locomotives, Together with ancient machinery and other historical artifacts that tell the story of the evolution of railway technology in Italy. Each exhibited piece bears witness to the crucial role of railways in the development economic and social of the country and in his unit. During the visit, we will have the opportunity to immerse ourselves in a real historical experience, discovering how these means of transport have contributed to the growth of Italy over the centuries.
In addition to exploring the exhibitions, we will be able to relax and find refreshment at the Bayard coffee, located inside the museum, or enjoy a break with a panoramic view of the Pietrarsa Terraces, where it will be possible to taste typical local products.
