Free Pizzas in Rione Sanità, Pizzeria Oliva Celebrates 10 Years

Il 4 December 2024 It will be a special day for the residents of the Rione Sanità of Naples: the Olive Pizzeria Carla and Salvatore celebrates his tenth anniversary giving away 500 free pizzas to the community. The event will take place from 11: 00 to 13: 00, right in front of the historic Basilica of Santa Maria della Sanità, better known as the Church of San Vincenzo 'o Munacone.

When and where can I get free pizzas from Pizzeria Oliva?

The Oliva pizzeria, run by Carla and Salvatore, represents a point of reference for the Rione Sanità and celebrates its ten years of activity with a gesture of gratitude towards its neighbors. For the occasion, particular attention will be paid to Fried pizza “Donna Sophia”, a tribute to Sophia Loren, who played one of the famous episodes of Vittorio De Sica's film, “The Gold of Naples” (1954). This iconic film, inspired by the tales of Joseph Marotta, celebrates Neapolitan popular culture and local culinary traditions.

What will we eat during the 10th anniversary of Pizzeria Oliva?

During the event, it will not only be Carla and Salvatore who will be working: their children too, Ciro and Armando, will be involved in the preparation of pizzas, carrying on the family tradition. The Oliva pizzeria, located in the alleys that saw the birth of the famous Toto, has always been much more than a commercial activity: it is a symbol of belonging to the neighborhood and a meeting point for the community.

The celebration also includes a collaboration with the “Isabella d'Este” institute, in a joint effort to strengthen the bond between the pizzeria and the neighborhood, involving local institutions and promoting community spirit.
