The "Procida del Cinema" in a festival that celebrates the Island of the Postman between movie-tour and film contests
From the 22 31 July Will be held the Procida Film Festival, the film festival inspired by the evocative places of the Island of Arturo.
The smallest, but also the most picturesque, of the islands in the Gulf of Naples, has been an enchanting natural set for many cinematographic films, to be precise 34. This is why since 2002 the first activities related to the world of cinema and films were organized set in Procida. And since 2004 the event was called Island of the Postino, to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the famous film by Massimo Troisi.
From the 2012 projection of cinematographic works set on the island of Procida was enriched by institutional events, collateral, such as photographic contests, poetry contests, book presentations, conferences, short film competitions, always inspired by the Island of Arturo.
Since 2013, the promoter of these initiatives (made up of young people under 30 who are passionate about cinema) has decided to give life to Procida Film Festival, where both emerging and classical works will converge, to be immersed in the splendid setting of the place to which they were inspired.
They will be screened, for the first official edition of the Procida Film Festival, more than 300 cinematographic works, including feature films, short films, documentaries, webseries and videoclips sent to the technical commission from all over the world.
Movie-Tour of the island of Procida
The "Procida del cinema" will offer spectators the opportunity to make real ones Movie-Tour of the island, to discover the beautiful landscapes and breathtaking views that have inspired so many film directors in the realization of their works. The sets can be visited aboard a sailing ship or walk through the streets of the island.
Among the Movie-Tour scheduled:
- Wednesday 24 July 18 hours: Movie-tour of the Postman. Walk in the Old Town on the set of the film The postman. Departure from Terra Murata in front of the house of the guards of the former prison (info 366 1440555)
- Thursday 25 July 19 hours: Movie-tour of Graziella. Walk in the Old Town on the set of the film Graziella and other unforgettable films. Departure from Piazza dei Martiri. Uphill path. (info 366 1440555)
White cinema night
The works in competition selected by the Procida Film Festival technical committee will be screened every night until 2 at night.
Ciak Corricella
The best works in the competition will be awarded by the jury of the festival with the Ciak Corricella, a work created by the Italian-Australian artist Luigi Nappa. The winners will be able to stay in Procida to shoot a short film on the island.
