In Naples a special appointment with the Vera Pizza Day event: a world marathon is scheduled to take place online dedicated to delicious pizza!
Sunday January 17 2021 we will celebrate the traditional feast of Sant'Antonio Abate and together with this also the World Pizzaiuolo Day, being the saint, protector of fire but also of pizza makers and bakers.
The AVPN, the True Neapolitan Pizza Association, for the occasion has organized some wonderful initiatives, including the True Pizza Day.
Founded in 1984, the AVPN includes all the pizzerias in the world that follow the rules established for making the real Neapolitan pizza, which has also been recognized as UNESCO heritage.
So all the pizzerias in Naples and around the world, who make pizza like real Neapolitan pizza chefs can display the association's coat of arms, or pulcinella holding the pizza shovel and the unmistakable background Vesuvius.
True Pizza Day
Il True Pizza Day it will be a beautiful one digital event that you can follow live on facebook page of the Association. In particular it will be 17 free masterclasses from all over the world with real pizza lessons.
The event will start at midnight live from the Association's social networks and then every 30 minutes throughout the day lessons will be held from theAustralia, Thailand, Russia, Egypt, France, Korea and Japan.
All 10:30 it will be the turn of the pizza chefs Ciro Salvo and Massimo Di Porzio, which will be followed by interventions from Poland, Brazil, South America and the United States, and then return to Naples.
