Red Bull King d'o Rione arrives in Naples. Tournament rules and format.

Napoli, precisely Piazza Mercato, is preparing to welcome the Red Bull King of the Rione, a tournament that celebrates the city's football tradition and pays homage to the historic “Neapolitan German”, a street game that has shaped generations. More than just football: the event aims to combine sporting passion, neighborhood identity, and the creativity of the fans, turning every match into a spectacle on and off the field.

How the tournament works

The format includes a group stage with 16 teams divided into 4 groups of 4. The top two teams in each group will advance to the final stage direct elimination, up to the great FinalEach team represents its own neighborhood, bringing to the field the pride and sense of belonging that has always distinguished Neapolitan popular football.

The main rules

The rules of the Red Bull King d'o Rione are designed to enhance spectacle and technique:

• Teams: 5 players on the pitch + 2 reserves, all adults, with at least 11 fans in the stands.
• Match duration: 10 minutes.
• Penalties: shootout mode starting from midfield and 10 seconds to finish.
• Punishments: never direct, the ball must be lifted by a teammate and the wall positioned 5 meters away.
• Fans: curves take center stage. A jury awards 3 extra points to the team with the most engaging choreography.

The scoring system

Each team starts from 15 pointsDuring the race, points are deducted based on the technical actions suffered:

• Goal with foot: -2 points
• Goal with thigh, head, shoulder or chest: –5 points
• Acrobatic goals (bicycle kick, scissor kick, scorpion kick): –10 points
  At the end, the remaining points and the extra points from the fans are added together. The player with the highest score wins.
