Rites of Fire 2024 in Lioni: 3 days of folklore and traditions in Irpinia

From 6 to 8 December 2024, the picturesque town of Million, in the heart of Irpinia, will host Rites of Fire 2024, a unique event that celebrates folklore, traditions, music, nature e legends. These three days of celebration will transform the town into a stage of sounds, colors and suggestions, involving the public in an experience that will warm not only the body, but also the heart, thanks to the warmth of the bonfires and the many performances.

What activities are planned for Rites of Fire 2024?

December 6th Program at Riti di Fuoco 2024

• 9 hours: 00 - 18: 00: The Roots Festival hosted in Lioni, with a day dedicated to culture and dialect, through workshops and discussions.
• 15 hours: 00 - 18: 00: Irpinia Trekking – Tour of the Casale Leonum in the streets of the town. Reservations at the number: 380 3553149.
• 20 hours: 30: Inauguration of the event with thelighting the braziers.
• 21 hours: 30: concerts with itinerant performances of the groups A Cunv'rsazion, One For Peace, Voices of the South e The Dissonanthika, located along the route.

December 7th Program at Riti di Fuoco 2024

• 10 hours: 30 - 16: 30: The appointment continues with Irpinia Trekking, with an excursion on the Monte Calvello. Info & Reservations: 380 3553149.
• 17 hours: 30: Presentation of the docu-film “Leonarda Cianciulli (the soap maker of Correggio)” di Anthony DiMartino, in collaboration with the Women's Council of Lioni, at the Council Chamber of the Municipality of Lioni.
• 20 hours: 30: Parade of itinerant groups with the participation of Murga Los Espositos, Jump Cardillo, the mask of the Devil of Tufara and to the Squacqualacchiun.
• 21 hours: 00: Concert of the group Makardia at T. Capocci Square.
• 22 hours: 00: Concert of the Bottari of Macerata at T. Capocci Square.
• 00 hours: 00: DJ Set to close the evening with a party.

• 11 hours: 00: Floral tribute to the Statue of the Immaculate in Victory Square, edited by Catholic Action and the Public Assistance of Lioni.
• 16 hours: 00: Dance school performance Latin Art Academy Val Sele, with the masters Sister Rebecca e Megaro Nicola.
• 16 hours: 30: Performance of the students of the dance school Dancing Queen of the teacher Giusy Meo.
• 17 hours: 00: Puppet Theater and Music di Gio Ferraiolo at T. Capocci Square.
• 17 hours: 00: Book Presentation “Irpinia Design 2030 – Thoughts and ideas for the development of internal areas” di Nicholas Trunfio, at the Council Chamber of the Municipality of Lioni.
• 18 hours: 00: Lighting and blessing of bonfires scattered along the route.
• 19 hours: 00: Travelling concerts with Malammeste e Rotarossa.
• 20 hours: 30: Parade of itinerant groups with Murga Los Espositos, Jump Cardillo and the fire show of the Mercenaries of the East.
• 21 hours: 30: Roy Paci DJ Set in T. Capocci Square.

During these three days of celebration, Lioni will come alive with a perfect mix of music, Folklore, traditions e ancient rhythms that will warm the hearts of the participants. It will be possible to explore the local traditions, taste the food and wine specialties of Irpinia and live an experience that celebrates the authentic essence of this land.

There will be no shortage of stands with typical local products, cellars and breweries from Irpinia, as well as stalls selling handicraft e artistic exhibitions for a 360-degree immersion in the traditions of this unique region.
