Sagra d'a Purpetta e' Pastenaca 2025 in San Valentino Torio

Il 15 and 16 February 2025, San Valentino Torio renew the appointment with the Festival of Purpetta and Pastenaca, an event that combines culinary tradition and solidarity. Organized by theCatholic Action of the Parish of St. James the Greater Apostle, the event is dedicated to the famous meatball with carrots, a symbolic dish of the local community.

Who is organizing the event?

The festival is promoted by theCatholic Action of San Valentino Torio, with the support of the parish and the local community. Every year, the event not only celebrates a gastronomic tradition, but also becomes an opportunity to do good: all proceeds will be donated to the population of Veyula, a village in Tanzania, supporting development and assistance projects.

What do you eat at the Carrot Meatball Festival?

The undisputed protagonist of the festival is the meatball with carrots, prepared according to the original recipe donated to the community by Mrs. Ida Rosa Good. In addition to this delicacy, visitors will be able to taste other local specialties:

• Carrot Meatballs: fried and crunchy, with a delicate and spicy flavour.
• Typical dishes of Campania cuisine, prepared with genuine ingredients.
• Artisanal sweets and local products.
• Local wines, perfect to accompany any dish.
