Chestnut and Hazelnut Festival Avellana 2024, chestnuts, wild boar and culture in Avella
With the patronage of Municipality of Avella and organized bySocio-cultural Association I Rami del Melo, the Avellana Chestnut and Hazelnut Festival returns to enliven the area.
La Chestnut and Avellana Hazelnut Festival returns again this year to enliven the Municipality of Avella (AV), reaching its eleventh edition. One of the most anticipated events in the whole Lower Irpinia, will be held on the two weekends of October: 11-12-13 e 18-19-20 October 2024. The festival celebrates the gastronomic excellence of the area, attracting thousands of visitors from all over the Central-Southern Italy. In the suggestive setting of Ducal Palace, from the Convent and Piazza Primo Maggio, participants will be able to enjoy a wide choice of typical products, accompanied by Irpinian wine, draft beer and live music. A unique opportunity to immerse yourself in local flavors and traditions, living an authentic Irpinia experience.

All projects Chestnut and Avellana Hazelnut Festival, visitors will have the opportunity to taste numerous typical dishes of the local tradition, prepared with genuine local ingredients:
- Chestnuts and hazelnuts, protagonists of the festival

- Local porcini mushrooms, fresh and delicious
- Artisanal cheeses, produced by local farms

The festival will take place in various locations in the centre of Avella, including the Piazza Primo Maggio, Ducal Palace and the Convent. Saturday and Sunday, the food stands will also be open for lunch, offering the opportunity to experience the event during the day as well. There are plans parking lots near the main areas of the festival, to make access easy and convenient for all participants. The event is free to enter, while tastings are available at the numerous food and wine stands set up for the occasion.
