Salome by Oscar Wilde at the Teatro Mercadante in Naples: the 2018 / 2019 theater season opens

The Salomè show by Oscar Wilde on stage at the Teatro Mercadante in Naples

At the Teatro Mercadante, Oscar Wilde's "Salomè" show opens the 2018 / 2019 theater season. Directed by Luca De Fusco.

From 24 October to 11 November 2018 will be staged at Mercadante Theater of Naples la Salomè di Oscar Wilde, a fascinating show directed by the director Luca De Fusco that is going to revisit in an unusual way one of the most famous theatrical texts in the world. The show, which inaugurates the new season of the Teatro Stabile di Napoli, has already been presented to the public during the last edition of the Pompeii Teatrum Mundi review, achieving great success especially thanks to the visual and visual impact that characterizes the adaptation of Oscar Wilde's masterpiece.

La Salomè by Luca De Fusco surprisingly contaminates different artistic languages - theater, dance, music and cinema - to reflect the different stylistic registers - dramatic, ironic, erotic - that Wilde himself includes in his dramaturgical work. The text in fact, inspired by the biblical figure of Salome, the Jewish princess daughter of Herodias, is very little represented compared to its lyrical version and the show on stage at Mercadante tries to challenge this great archetype, an eternal symbol of love and death.

The show will feature on stage: Eros Pagni in the role of Herod, Gaia Aprea in that of Salome, Anita Bartolucci in the role of Herodias, Giacinto Palmarini in those of Iokanaan.
