Il 4 April 2018 at the Agusteo Theater of Naples an unmissable event for art history enthusiasts and others is on the bill. It is about “Caravaggio”, a show by and with Vittorio Sgarbi on the works of Michelangelo Merisi, known as Caravaggio.
A journey through life and painting of the artist, considered as one of the greatest painters ever existed. On stage the famous art critic and writer will be accompanied by lights and music edited by Angelo Generali and Valentino Corvino, respectively. The suggestive images which will enchant the audience along with the narrative are instead the work of Tommaso Arosio.
As Sgarbi himself explains, Caravaggio's greatness lies in being a contemporary painter, having a sensitivity that overcomes temporal boundaries. The twentieth century was able to recognize the fame it deserves, highlighting how, even today, its masterpieces are current.
