MANN and Universiade 2019: in the exhibition Paideia the relationship between young people and sports in the ancient world at the Archaeological Museum of Naples.

Il MANN, National Archaeological Museum of Naples has decided to propose the Show Paideia which offers a cross-section, through artifacts of enormous artistic and historical value, of how young people approached the world of competition. And more precisely the possibility of growing and becoming better people.

La Exhibition “Paideia. Youth and sport in antiquity"Is held in the evocative Sala dei Tirannicidi of the Archaeological Museum from 1 July to 4 November and gives the opportunity to admire twenty-five findings mostly from the vast collection of MANN, but also from Los Angeles Getty Museum. THE 2019 Universiade they are a special occasion and this museum has shown that it wants to show off all its most precious treasures going to recover artifacts that were not on display for several decades. Of course panatenaic amphorae that were prizes for winning athletes almost always containing oil and depicted competitive scenes cannot be missing.

There will be other works of art of the same period with the subject of various themes related to the various sports disciplines. But one of the most representative events will be the arrival of Torch of the Universiade after his long journey around Italy.
