Free parking for all electric cars in Sorrento, thanks to an ordinance of the Municipality. Just get the pass!
Great news for the City of Sorrento about the parking for cars electric starting from the month of July 2019. In fact, since yesterday 22 July, the municipal ordinance has come into force which gives great advantages to the owners of electric cars when they have to stop. Basically, while parking in the buzzing strips, normally for a fee, those who have aelectric car will stop for free.
This initiative does not include hybrid cars, but only vehicles with complete and exclusive electric drive. Not only that, free parking is also possible in spaces reserved for residents and workers. In any case, however, parking it must not go beyond three hours. In order to get this advantage, drivers must show the appropriate mark and the parking disc.
Of course, they must be respected the limits which are indicated in the regulations on traffic devices for limited traffic areas, including parking, and all the rules provided for in the provisions that regulate the methods of parking in the streets of Sorrento.
How to get the parking pass
To obtain the special mark for electric cars, simply present an application by filling in the specific form of the Municipality. The application must be presented to the municipal offices at the Achille Lauro parking lot in Via Correale. The pass will be valid until December 31 2019, then it can be innovated.
Residents and those working in commercial activities or offices can obtain the pass which are found in the territory of the Municipality of Sorrento. Those who work for companies and organizations whose headquarters are in Sorrento can also request it.
