The strike of the artisans of San Gregorio Armeno in Naples puts 2018 Christmas Fair at risk for lack of investments.

The artisans of the famous street of San Gregorio Armeno in Naples, known throughout the world for the presence of cribs and shepherds done excellently by hand, they are ready to go on strike during 2018 Christmas due, according to their statements, of the little attention that the municipal administration dedicates to the Christmas Fair.

Basically, from the words of Gabriele Casillo, President and Coordinator of the Body Association of Naples, it is clear that this year the occupation of public land will no longer be free as in previous years and that the municipal funds are missing to invest. The lack of investment has put the artisans who have decided to protest through a strike almost on the war footing.

Casillo has also advanced one proposal to ensure that the San Gregorio Armeno Fair can improve and make the pedestrian street that is visited by thousands of citizens and tourists even less clogged every year. The proposal provides for the installation of illuminations also in the alleys that come into San Gregorio Armeno so from to transport the peodons also in communicating streets and do not crowd only the main road and the presence of chemical baths.

In mid-September there should be a meeting at Palazzo San Giacomo with the mayor to assess the situation, but, even if Christmas still seems far away, in reality the times for the organization of the Fair are not short, so it is advisable to try to resolve the situation hoping that this traditional event does not jump this year.
