First night test run for the new metro train line 1 of Naples in the presence of the mayor Luigi De Magistris!
The first test run for the new metro train line 1 of Naples it took place last night in the presence of the mayor Luigi De Magistris, of the Sole Director Anm Nicola Pascale and the Councilor for urban policies Carmine Piscopo.
The mayor of Naples has invested approx 180 millioni to purchase twenty new trains which will have to replace the now old trains, in circulation since the 90s.
The new trains of the metro line 1
The new twenty subway trains line 1 will have all the necessary comforts and will consist of two identical semitreni single room to be coupled for the commercial service for one overall length of 105 meters.
Inside the new trains there will be air conditioned for both summer and winter, they will have a capacity of 1250 places and rapid internal mobility with 24 doors per side. The new trains will also be accessible to travelers with motor disabilities thanks to two workstations for them next to each cabin.
With twenty new trains that will travel at a speed of 80 km times journeys can be made with a frequency of 4 minutes, equivalent to 15 trains per hour. The first two trains are already in Naples for testing, the third train will be delivered in September, the others are still in production.
