Teatro alla Deriva 2026 in Pozzuoli: four shows at the Giardino dell'Ogre on Lake Averno.

The 15th edition of Teatro alla Deriva , the summer festival that brings the Giardino dell'Orco (Orco's Garden) on the shores of Lake Averno in Pozzuoli, in the Phlegraean Fields, to life on Sunday, July 5, 2026. Four Sunday performances at 7:00 PM will take place in the natural light of sunset.

Conceived by Ernesto Colutta and Giovanni Meola , who is the artistic director, the festival offers theatre without artificial lights, immersed in the suggestive natural setting of the Phlegraean volcanic lake.

The program

July 5 — Chain Break
Written and directed by Ferdinando Smaldone, with Noemi Pirone and Chiara Vitiello (Teatro Rostocco). An original work that draws on two fairytale icons, Cinderella and Snow White, to explore the cultural mechanism of sacrifice in Western narratives.

July 12 — The Precious Ridiculous
Adapted and directed by Giovanni Meola. A very young company attempts to stage a show without funding: between union demands and versatile characters, Molière's masterpiece comes to life in a metatheatrical key.

July 19 — Lyrics and music by EA Mario
Singer Flo, accompanied by Francesco Di Cristofaro (accordion, flutes, baglamas), brings to the stage the life and works of EA Mario, author of The Legend of the Piave.

July 26 — Hamlet Annascunnuto
Free adaptation of the Neapolitan translation by Antonio Piccolo, starring Mario Autore (nominated for the 2021 Nastri d'Argento Awards), Melissa Di Genova, Peppe Cerrone, and Domenico Pinelli. A Hamlet in disguise and in many forms.
