Academy Awards 2023: nominees and possible winners for best picture

Like every year at the Oscars, the most coveted award is the one for best film, let's find out who are the nominees for the 2023 edition and who has the most chance of winning.

Here is the list of candidates:

• Nothing new on the western front
• Avatar: The way of water
• The spirits of the island
• Elvis
• Everything Everywhere All at Once
• The Fabelmans
• tar
• Top Gun: Maverick
• Triangle of Sadness
• Women Talking

Who could win the Oscar for best picture? Here are the favourites.

Everything Everywhere All At Once appears to be the favorite to win, having won at the Directors Guild Awards , the Producers Guild Awards, and the SAG Awards.

However, the German film All Quiet on the Western Front surprisingly won seven BAFTAs, including Best Picture and Best Director. Many believe that Martin McDonagh's film could ultimately come in third, while Top Gun: Maverick and The Fabelmans appear to be out of the running after their losses.

Who can win the Oscar for best director? Here are the favourites

For Best Director Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert are considered the favourites always with Everything Everywhere All At Once following their wins at the Critics' Choice Awards and Directors Guild Awards.
However, to the Baftas they were beaten by German director Edward Berger for Nothing new on the western front, which, however, is not nominated for an Oscar in this section (but it is in the best films).

There are therefore two possibilities: either the Daniels will win overwhelmingly from every point of view or opportunities will open up for Steven Spielberg with The Fabelmans, who won the Golden Globe for directing.
