Eurovision 2023 kicked off the competition with the First Semifinal, held yesterday Tuesday 9 May. At this stage, the representatives of fifteen countries they performed to earn their spot in the final. The results were determined solely by televoting, open at 22pm and closed at 20pm.

So here is the classification of the qualifiers and the eliminated countries after the First Semifinal.

Who qualified for the final

The ten countries that have succeeded in pass the first semifinal and to enter the final are:

  • Croatia: Let 3 with “Mama sc!”
  • Moldova: Pasha Parfeni with “Soarele si Luna”
  • Switzerland: Remo Forrer with “Watergun”
  • Finland: Kaarjia with “Cha cha cha”
  • Czechia: Vesna with “My Sister's Crown”
  • Israel: Noa Kirel with “Unicorn”
  • Portugal: Mimicat with “Al Coraçao”
  • Sweden: Loreen with “Tatoo”
  • Serbia: Luke Black with "Samo mi e spava"
  • Norway: Alessandra with “Queen of Kings”

Countries eliminated after the first semi-final

The five countries that, on the other hand, failed to pass the First Semifinal e they will not perform in the final are:

  • Malta: The Busker with “Dance (Our Own Party)”
  • Latvia: Sudden Lights with “Aija”
  • Ireland: Wild Youth with “We Are One”
  • Azerbaijan: TaraiTaranx with “Tell Me More”
  • Netherlands: Mia Nicolai & Dion Cooper with “Burning Daylight”

Among these stands out the name of Ireland, at the moment the country historically with the most victories soon followed by Switzerland.

What are the next appointments

The qualified singers will join representatives of the Big Five (Italy, France, Germany, Spain and the United Kingdom), Ukraine, winner of the previous edition, and the other ten singers who will pass the second semi-final scheduled for Thursday 11 May.
