In the post-war context of 1951, the quiet German town of cold stone is located at the center of a vortex of sociocultural and relational changes.

Episode 1 The Breath of Freedom

The first episode introduces the context of Post-war Germany, where the apparent tranquility of the town of Kaltenstein is shattered by thearrival of US military troops.

While for the Mayor Strumm and his daughter Erika, this presence is seen as one resource that can revitalize the local economy and bring a little American glamor into their world, for the Kastner family print bar is a threat immediate.

The third episode introduces a twist: the Siegfried's return, Erika's brother and Marie's boyfriend, from Russian captivity. This event shakes the foundations of existing dynamics and introduces new conflicts and challenges for all the characters involved.

Marie is now forced into a difficult situation choice between his pre-existing commitment with Siegfried and his growing feelings for George.

Siegfried, traumatized and changed by his experience in war, represents the past of Marie, while George represents a possibility for a future different.

In the meantime, Erika must face the consequences of his rebellion when she is sent to a correctional institution. However, thanks to the intervention of Marie and Siegfried, succeeds in go back home, but his World vision it is irrevocably changed.
