“During one of his business trips to Anatolia, Kurt Seyit fell ill. As a man of iron health, he didn't take the disease seriously. He persisted in not caring and contracted tuberculosis. It happened during the Second World War when everything was in short supply and the whole of Turkey was in dire straits. Very soon she was no longer able to work: in the throes of unbearable pain, she no longer breathed well and to support her medical expenses my grandmother began working in a hosiery factory. When the doctors told him there wasn't much hope of recovery, he decided to take his own life: he could no longer live like that. And he planned the moment down to the smallest detail, freeing his wife from the weight of the agony that the disease would have entailed ”.

Fans of the series speculated that the guilt and regret for abandoning Sura. But Nermin dispels any doubts:

"That's not the case at all: 22 years had already passed since my grandfather had pronounced his marriage vows with Murka, sharing an intense and deep love".
