The plot of Belcanto: between dreams and sacrifices
Set in 19th century Milan, the series tells the story of Mary (Vittoria Puccini) and his daughters, Antonia (Caterina Ferioli) and Carolina (Adriana Savarese). Fleeing a painful past and an abusive husband, the three women seek redemption in the world of Opera, a fascinating but cruel universe, where talent and ambition collide with intrigue and unexpected obstacles.
Maria, once a great promise of opera, has only one goal: to push her daughters towards success, hoping to redeem her life through them. But while Antonia, fragile and obedient, tries to please her mother, the young Carolina demonstrates a rebellious character and an extraordinary voice that could change their destiny forever.
On their way they will meet key figures of the music scene, including John (Carmine Recano), a fascinating but tormented composer, and Iginio (Antonio Gerardi), Maria's husband, determined to hinder their dreams. Impossible loves, revenge and unspeakable secrets will make their climb to success even more difficult.
