The Death of Donna Wanda
The second big blow comes with the Death of Donna Wanda Di Salvo, historical boss of the series. Released from prison for a furlough, she meets Simone, the boy she has chosen as her heir. Wanda, before dying, asks Simone to carry on the Di Salvo name and kill Rosa Ricci. But who pulled the trigger? The coldness with which Carmela reacts to the news, saying "Bravi" on the phone, seems to confirm her responsibility, even if the series does not show it explicitly.

The season finale ends with a heart-stopping sequence: Rosa Ricci is in the Luna Park to pay homage to Eugenio, Tommaso's little brother, when she is targeted by a hitman.
