THEItaly returns to the stage of theEuro Vision Song Contest 2025 with an artist who has been making people talk about him since Sanremo: Lucio Corsi. The Tuscan singer-songwriter, competing with “I wanted to be tough”, represents one of the most anticipated moments of the competition, also thanks to his stage presence, original and coherent with the song.

His participation is accompanied by English subtitles, an innovation that has received international acclaim, and from the use of a live instrument: I'harmonica, played unamplified to comply with EBU regulations. This is the first instrument performed live at Eurovision since 1998, the year in which the orchestra was still present.

Corsi is automatically in the final thanks to Italy's status among the Big five, along with France, Germany, the United Kingdom and Spain. But its position is far from marginal: the song is already viral on social media and is gathering cross-party consensus.

Gabry Ponte for San Marino: a hymn to Italy that dances

Next to Lucio Corsi, there is another Italian on the Eurovision stage: Gabry Bridge, competing for San Marino with the song “All of Italy”. The song, already known for being the theme song of Sanremo 2025, made the audience in Basel go wild.

Ponte, an internationally renowned DJ and producer, has focused on a overwhelming rhythm and an engaging choreography, paying homage to Italian pop culture. Its goal is to reach the final through televoting, also supported by the Italian public, since Italy and San Marino are performing in the same semi-final.

Italy Queen of Streaming: The Numbers That Matter

If you look at the Global Eurovision streaming ranking, Italy dominates. In the top ten there are Angelina Mango with “La Noia”, Marco Mengoni with “Two Lives”, Mahmood and Blanco with “Brividi” and Mahmood again with “Soldi”, the second most listened to song ever among those competing at the ESC, with over 256 million streams.

A confirmation of the increasingly central role of Italy in the European musical imagination, capable of uniting style, tradition and innovation.

The finalists and favourites: Sweden, Holland and a long list of outsiders

During the first semi-final the first ones were selected 10 finalist who will compete for the victory with the Big Five and the host country Switzerland. Among them stand out:
