The Promised Life is the new Rai 1 drama starring Luisa Ranieri and Francesco Arca , directed by Ricky Tognazzi . The four-part series tells the story of a Sicilian family fleeing to America in the 1920s.

What the series is about?

Carmela Carrizzo (Luisa Ranieri) lives in Sicily in 1921 with her husband Salvatore and their five children. The family is tormented by threats from Vincenzo Spanò , a tormentor who desires Carmela. After the beating of her eldest son Rocco and the murder of Salvatore, Carmela finds the courage to leave for America with her children.

On the ship, he meets his guardian angel. Upon arrival at Ellis Island, an official mistake changes the family's surname from Carrizzo to Rizzo , marking the beginning of a new life.
