Disney+ is preparing to welcome Pompeii out of time (Pompeii: Out Of Time), a three-episode docudrama with Tom Hiddleston that will debut the 23 July 2026 on the platform. Produced by Plimsoll Productions in collaboration with National Geographic, the project blends investigative documentary and cinematic reconstruction.

What is it about?

Tom Hiddleston takes the audience on a journey to ancient Pompeii in the hours leading up to and during the devastating eruption of the Vesuvius of 79 AD The series does not limit itself to telling the tragedy: led by a team of archaeologists, historians, geologists and disaster expertsHiddleston uncovers extraordinary evidence that challenges long-held beliefs about Pompeii and its final hours. Among the most startling revelations is that many of the inhabitants swept away by the disaster they actually had a chance of surviving.
